Abstract

The paper presents the numerical analysis of a piezoelectric ultrasound transducer intended for biological micro cavitation applications. The ultrasound source in a two-dimensional, simplified variant with axial symmetry is analyzed numerically. The natural frequencies and the eigenmodes of the deformation associated with these natural frequencies, respectively, the resonance frequency, are determined. For the study in dynamic mode, the piezoceramic layers are considered to be supplied with a sinusoidal voltage at the previously determined resonance frequency.
