Summary. Electrical transformers are used in energy harvesting applications in the conditioning stage by adapting the harvested energy to that required by the load. This paper analyzes the effect of the presence of different dimensions of space between the primary and secondary winding, as well as the effect of the presence of a magnetic screen between windings arranged concentrically for a low-power transformer for energy harvesting applications. The analysis is performed in a transient regime, using the finite element method.
