Abstract

The battery of an electric or hybrid vehicle (EV/PHEV) can store a significant amount of electrical energy that can later be used for travel, injected into the grid when the tariff is favorable, or used to power a local consumer grid in the absence of other electrical sources. The interconnection of EV/PHEV with various external sources, respectively with local consumer grids, represents a natural technological evolution that can offer numerous advantages both for owners (through flexibility and through the savings that can be obtained by exploiting advantageous differentiated tariff plans), and for the national level through the contribution it can make to the stability of the NES as a whole.

This paper addresses the integration of the experimental Gaster PHEV model into a complex ecosystem comprising the vehicle battery, the power grid, fixed or portable PV panels, and a local consumer grid. Thus, the vehicle under study becomes a mobile prosumer equipped with V2L technology. The system proposed in the paper is analyzed in two different scenarios using the Matlab/Simulink software package.
